Curra Swans were formed in 1990 after the Merger of a couple of Townsville clubs. Since then we have won Premierships in 1996, 1997 , 1998 and 2020. In 2020 the Senior side went through the year undefeated under new coach Jamie Fogg in his first season. We also took out the Ressies flag in overtime and our Womens Team making their first Grand Final since entering the comp. We pride ourselves on being a Family club and very welcoming club to all new players no matter of ability. Our aspirations for 2021 is is to build on our Junior base and to continue to be a force in the Townsville competition. Recently securing a grant to install a Electronic Scoreboard and Air Conditioning on the Clubhouse for those warmer days. Also after a quite year due to Covid-19 on the social side of things bringing back more Club functions.
Lifestyle: Cmon why wouldn't you want to pack away the winter woolies and rock round in a Shirt, shorts and thongs all year round. No more standing around the fire after training while enjoying a cold one. Beautiful weather to play footy in each week and when you're not playing spend your weekends exploring the Whitsundays or making a trip out to the Barrier Reef both within a few 100kms.
Job prospects: Being a club with so many members and contacts it's never to hard to find someone a job to tie them over if you're only planning on stay the year of something more permanent if you decide this is home.
Housing: We will try and assist the best we can to find you something short term. With so many new players coming in each year you never know who else is looking for a Housemate and even better bring a friend up as well and your problem is solved.
Relocation: Unfortunately relocation costs will be up to any interested players.
Player Payments: As much as we would all love to get paid to run around and kick a ball on the weekends this is something we don't offer. We do though offer cash awards for Best on grounds and other awards each week. We can however help you find a Player Sponsor to cover your fees for the year.
