Our club is second to none when it comes to culture in the CAFL. We live in a smaller community minded town that gets behind us and backs us at every opportunity. We have been involved in many community matches during the year and are 100% committed to our town and its residents.
The Lifestyle in Port Douglas is very laid back with a cosmopolitan style town with pubs, bars and restaurants as well as the best part of the reef along the Great Barrier Reef as well as fishing, beaches and laid back holiday people to mingle with.
Not far up the road is the Daintree which is millions of years old where the rainforest meets the reef.
The Croc's Accommodation options for players is helped by being sponsored by a real estate agent helps us get the heads up on any accommodation that suits players once they arrive here. Players usually arrive in 2 or more so it’s very easy to house them.
Payment for players, the Croc's will pay players, but if you are weighing up Cairns v Port Douglas the money will be around the same but the lifestyle here in Port Douglas is what we believe to be superior. We have had players knock back thousands back in Victoria, South Australia & Tasmania to stay here at ‘their new home” others have come for a year to test the waters and don’t want to leave with a lot of the time extending their careers in the warm climate.
The Port Douglas Football Club operates under a professionally structured committee and football department that have as their mission statements the improvement of young men, both as footballers and as people.
The Crocs facilities are first-class and the experienced management/football departments focus on developing young men to become the best footballers and citizens they can be.
